How to Change Apple Watch Face Color and Style in watchOS 3

There are plenty of things that you can do with your Apple Watch that you can’t do with your regular watch. One of the coolest things? Customize the watch face.

Yes, it’s possible to change the color and style of your Apple Watch face. You can change colors, choose a different design and add features called “complications.” (Unlike the usual complications, that’s a positive thing in this case.)

Tips #1: Switch your Apple Watch Face

It’s easy to switch faces on your Apple Watch. Just swipe left or right from edge to edge to change the face. Keep swiping until you find a face that you want to use.

For now, you can choose between 10 different watch faces. They are:

  • Astronomy
  • Chronograph
  • Color
  • Mickey Mouse
  • Modular
  • Motion
  • Simple
  • Solar
  • Utility
  • X-Large

Tips #2: Customize your Apple Watch Face

Want to customize it more than that? Here’s what to do.

Step 1: Press the digital crown, the large button on the top of the right side, to go to the watch face.

Step 2: Firmly press the display.

Step 3: Swipe left or right to choose your face then tap Customize.

Step 4: Swipe left or right to select a feature and turn the digital crown to change it. Possibilities include changing the markings on the face or changing the color of the second hand.

Tips #3: Adding Complications

Changing the style and color’s just two of the things you can change on your Apple Watch. You can also customize it to add complications.

Complications are features that include additional information. You could show a complication that displays your battery, the date, and much more.

How much more? Try stocks, an activity summary, the weather, a stop watch, sunrise and sunset, the moon phase and even more.

Each watch face has different complications, just like each of them is different as far as what colors and styles you can change.

As you are customizing your Apple Watch, swipe all the way to the left to edit your complications. Tap a complication to choose it and turn the digital crown to change it.

Tips #4: Make Changes from your iPhone

You can also change your Apple Watch face from your iPhone.

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and go to the My Watch tab. From there you can tap on a watch face under My Faces to tap and change colors, styles and complications.
