How to download embedded videos from YouTube:

Downloading directly

If you’re trying to download a video embedded using YouTube or a flash video, this method probably won’t work too well. However, it often works to download MP4 videos.

Step 1: Begin playing the vide and wait until you get past ads that run before the video starts.

Step 2: Similar as you do with photos, right-click the video and select “Save Video As.” If you don’t see this save option, you will not be able to download the video directly.

Step 3: Select which folder you want to download the video to and click on the Save button. Once it’s saved, open the folder in file explorer to make sure the download was successful.

Using software to download video

There are programs like RealPlayer, Freemake and Easy Video Downloader that you can use to download videos from websites. There are also web browser add-ons that you can use. Most of them work similarly. Download and install one of the programs or a browser add-on and follow these steps.

Step 1: Click on Settings>Extensions>Get More Extensions in Google Chrome, the Gear icon and Manage Add-Ons in Internet Explorer, or the Menu icon and select Add-ons in Internet Explorer. Type download videos in the search field.

Step 2: Surf to the website that has the video you need to download. See if there is a button or an icon near the top of your browser window. If you don’t see the button, make sure your software or browser extension is turned on. Once you do, start the video.

Step 3: Click on the software’s button and click on Download. Different programs will have different icons beside the address bar.

Step 4: Once the download is completed, open the downloads folder in file explorer to make sure it downloaded successfully.

Using video capture websites

You can find online websites including Video Grabby, KeepVid and Savefrom.net that let you download videos without installing any special software to do so. They don’t always work, but there’s always a chance they will that makes them worth at least trying.

Step 1: Surf to the website that features the video you want to download. Right click on the URL in the browser’s web address field and use Copy from the drop-down menu that appears.

Step 2: Now go to the video capture website like the ones mentioned above. Place your cursor in the text field, press Enter and click the download link.

Step 3: Go to file explorer and open the downloads folder to make sure the video downloaded correctly.

You can often find more specific instructions on the video downloading website you choose. You can also see from what websites and services you can download videos. For instance, KeepVidPro supports YouTube, Instagram and Facebook among other sites.
