How to Install iFile in iOS 10 without Jailbreak on iPhone and iPad

Many who jailbroke their iPhones love iFile, a popular Cydia tweak that works as an iOS file manager. It helps you edit or delete files on the file system.

Now Apple allows you to sideload apps using Xcode that were previously only available through Cydia. You can install iFile on your iPhone running iOS 10 without jailbreak.

Sideloading lets iPhone and iPad users install apps on their Apple devices directly from Xcode on a Mac without going through the iOS App Store. That means you can install some apps that Apple otherwise doesn’t approve. Previously users had to jailbreak their iOS devices, but now that’s not the case.

How to Install iFile in iOS 10 without Jailbreak on iPhone and iPad:

Install iFile without Jailbreaking

Step 1: Download iFile.ipa app file on your Mac.

Step 2: Install the app on your device using Cydia Impactor or Xcode. (See below if you choose to use Xcode.)

Step 3: Trust the certificate on your device. Do this by launching Settings>General>Profiles and Device Management on your iPhone.

Step 4: Tap on the certificate of the installed iFile app.

Step 5: Tap on Trust and then tap on confirm.

Now it should be installed and ready to use.

Installing iFile using Xcode 8

Xcode includes software development tools required to develop apps for Apple devices. It helps developers code, test and debug apps.

Here is how to sideload apps on devices running iOS 10. It’s a lengthy process but worth it to be able to sideload apps like iFile.

Step 1: Install the latest version of Xcode (8.1) on your Mac.

Step 2: Go to http://developer.apple.com. Create an account if you don’t have one, and if you do enter your Apple ID and passwords to log in.

Step 3: Launch Xcode 8 on your Mac. Do so by navigating Xcode>Preferences>Accounts.

Step 4: Click on the + icon to add your developer Apple account.

Step 5: Find the app you want to sideload. In this case, that app would be iFile.

Step 6: Copy the URL display you find at the right side.

Step 7: Go to Xcode 8 and click on Source Control followed by Check Out.

Step 8: Enter the URL of the app you copied in the repository location box.

Step 9: Click on Next>Download to download the code in Xcode 8 on your Mac.

Wait for the download to finish and the app name with Ready pop up on your screen.

Step 10: Connect your Apple device to your Mac using an USB cable. Choose your iPhone from the drop down box next to the name of the app.

Step 11: Wait to see the word Ready then click the Play button to start the process.

Authorize the app on your iPhone/iPad

After you finish the process, you need to authorize the app so that it can run on your Apple device.

Do this by opening the Settings app and going to General>Profile>Name of the App then tap Trust.

Now you can use your sideloaded app.
